Rama was VP Infosys, Delivery Head for Product Engineering unit and Development Center Head for Infosys, Bangalore. She is CEO ELCIA & ELCITA (Electronics City Industries Association & Electronics city Industries Township authority), member of city connect foundation and is on the academic advisory board of MSR and CMR management institutions.
She was delivery head for a large team of 4500 people and location head for Bangalore DC with 22000 people in Infosys. She has been doing both formal / informal mentoring and coaching for men and women. In addition to her experience as leader, it is her passion for people that made her to work towards better commute for people on Hosur road
She has managed and grown accounts of the world’s leading business software providers and for blue chip communications OEMs and service providers. All along, she has been responsible for building and nurturing some of Infosys’ best Delivery processes, Knowledge Management practices and Customer interfacing capabilities. It was under her leadership that Infosys – Nortel Offshore Development Center received award for outstanding quality and service.
Rama brings in decades of engineering and system design experience. She has strong R&D experience in Telecom and has worked in the areas of Core switching, Wireless and wire-line communications, Networking, Satellite communications, Microwave and Radio equipment development.
She was responsible for bringing in state of the art digital M/W technology into the country during 80s. She has managed telecom and non telecom programs with customers like HP, AT&T Philips, Siemens, NEC, NSW, OKI, Alcatel…in US, Japan and UK.
In her role as DC Head Bangalore she was working towards the improvement of traffic conditions of roads leading to electronic city. She has focused on better work life balance for employees and employee engagement activities. She has contributed significantly for the developments of roads to Electronic city including elevated road on Hosur road
She was responsible for creation of VoY (Voice of Youth) and active participation of the same in Infosys Bangalore DC management now common practice in all units of Infosys.
In her role as CEO, ELCITA she has taken up the responsibility of taking electronics city to next level and improve quality of life of people. She is working on getting youth involved in the management of the estate. She was responsible for getting electronics city being declared as Industrial Township Authority.
She has been responsible for setting up the processes and operations of ELCITA. Currently ELCITA is responsible for all municipal functions and safety traffic management of e-city. Currently ELCITA has implemented SMART city solutions to take e-city to next level. It was her dream to demystify Smart City solutions which made electronics city what it is today.
She has also worked towards getting approvals for MSME cluster project under MSME CDP program of GoI. The Common Facility Centre hosts Mechanical and Electronic equipment worth 14.41crores and is used by the MSMEs to increase their market potential.
Rama is currently Co-chairperson and external member of Anti sexual harassment initiative in Infosys. She is an active member from its inception in 1999 and has contributed significantly towards documenting policies and processes. She is also member of anti sexual Internal complaints committee in IIMB, Biocon, Rangadorai memorial hospital and SAFRAN, Bangalore.
She was a founder core member of IWIN (Infosys Women’s Inclusivity Network) and was instrumental in setting up Crèche in Electronic city. She has taken active role in IWIN activities including mentoring and counseling women
Rama is a gold medalist from Mysore University and is one of the first few women engineers in Karnataka.
