Suhas R Joshi is currently Heading Bayer’s Carbon business in India. He is presently leading the development of Bayer’s carbon farming venture that would involve large scale generation and trading of carbon offsets from agricultural operations. Suhas has held senior positions in some of India’s leading agribusiness companies with his experience ranging from Sustainable Development, marketing to strategic planning. He has hands-on understanding of contract farming operations, setting up farm-based supply chains, handling legal and ethical issues. One of his projects on contract farming has become an international case study published by Harvard Business Review. Moreover, as a member of the UNIDROIT – FAO working group on contract farming, he has been instrumental in developing ‘International guidelines for formulating contract farming laws’ He has also set up Bayer Foundation in India.
His academic qualifications include a graduate degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Postgraduate degree in Business Management.
