Sheetal Panchal is a distinguished professional currently serving as the Director General of the Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC), Mumbai. In this pivotal role, she is actively involved in driving growth and innovation across diverse sectors, including Agriculture, Infrastructure, Startup & Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Incubation, Capacity Building for MSMEs, and Green Hydrogen, among others. As the Editor of the MEDC Economic Monthly Publication, she focuses on the socio-economic development of Maharashtra, offering valuable insights and analysis on the state’s economic landscape.
With a robust educational background in Commerce, and Postgraduate degrees in Public Relations, Advertising, Digital Marketing, and Social Work, Sheetal brings over 15 years of experience in education, public relations, and marketing. Her extensive expertise also spans mentoring at Atal Tinkering Labs, managing thematic events and conferences, and contributing to the startup ecosystem through her work with the Atal Incubation Centre, where she has played a critical role in setting up and administering the center, as well as providing guidance to startups and entrepreneurs.
In addition to her leadership at MEDC, Sheetal holds significant positions on the boards of academic and knowledge institutions. She is an Expert Board Member of the Academic Council Committee of Maharashtra Education Society, Garware College of Commerce, Pune, and the Knowledge Resource Committee of Dr. Homi Bhabha State University, Mumbai, where she also serves as a Management Council Member.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sheetal is dedicated to social causes, actively working with NGOs on various initiatives, including livelihood programs for sex workers, waste management and solar energy projects, and supporting old age people, differently-abled children, orphaned children, and educating girls.
