Priya Menon is the CEO and Founder of Sankalp Creative Ventures which works towards empowering women and encouraging entrepreneurship. A resident of Palakkad in Kerala, Priya Menon founded Sankalp Creative Ventures in 2009, which was essentially a platform for aspiring women entrepreneurs, traditional artisans and handcrafters to further their economic prospects. Through exhibitions held all over Kerala, Sankalp has been successful in giving a head start to more than 800 women across the State, many of who have utilized the opportunity to move on as successful entrepreneurs.
Priya also founded The Sankalp Store in 2019, which is essentially an online space for enterprising entrepreneurs and artisans to find a global market for their products. She, along with her son, is also currently involved in lifting up the dying handloom sector of Kerala by coordinating with them in bringing out contemporary designs in Handloom Sarees.
Priya Menon is the recipient of the Red Shakti Awards conferred by Superhits 93.5 Red FM in 2017 as well as the Achievement Award 2020 by E Unnathi in 2019. She also heads her family-based industry in Palakkad, ‘Mentrode’, which manufactures Welding Electrodes.
