Dr. Bharat Kulkarni is a globally renowned agribusiness expert, working in the field of policy advisory and development of commodity exchanges and structured Markets. He has worked for more than 20 years on various agribusiness development projects and structured markets initiative in Africa.
Bharat started his career as a commodity trader and later worked as a commodity exchange expert with The United Nations till 2011. Since 2011, as a consultant, he has been advising several Agri-Policy initiatives of governments in Africa. His clients include governments in Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi through agencies like The World Bank, USAID, IFC, Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa, and many others from Private Sector including S&P Group in India.
He is a highly sought after speaker on Agri Market policies in frontier economies and travels across the globe to speak at various conferences year round. He is a regular speaker at prestigious forums like the Harvard Business School, World Investment Forum of the United Nations, Global Commodities forum( UNCTAD) etc. He is a PhD in Economics and has written three books.
