Atal Innovation Mission (AIM): It is a Government of India endeavour to promote the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, driven by Niti Aayog. AIM supports the establishment of new incubation centres called Atal Incubation Centres. Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) was selected as Atal Incubation Centre- BIMTECH (AIC- BIMTECH), for turning the vision of the Atal Innovation Mission into reality. The institute was one of the first ten selections out of the 3658 first-round applicants. Atal Incubation Centre BIMTECH is one of a kind academia-industry- government partnership, driven by Atal Innovation Mission to create high-class incubation facilities with suitable infrastructure in terms of capital equipment and operating facilities. It is coupled with the availability of sector-wise experts for mentoring the start-ups so that these startup businesses can become successful entrepreneurs and enterprises.

We have been operational since January 2018, and since that time, we have supported 125+ startups across the country, formed 80+ national and international partnerships, and offered INR 8.25 crores in free benefits to its incubatees. 14 AIC-BIMTECH incubatees have raised a total of INR 10.3 crores in funding from our investment partners. The innovation here lies in the focus on the creation of sustainable businesses through various public and private partnerships by providing market access and capital.

Our Program:

  • Khoj: Khoj program projects at transforming an idea into a properly moulded business venture. The program circles around supporting and rendering the necessary inputs required for a feasible business plan and profitable business proposition.
  • Gurukul: Gurukul program addresses the next step after the idea proposition. This program aims at inculcating the basic understanding related to building a full-fledged company, the realization of the idea, putting together the workforce and enhancement of entrepreneurship skills.
  • Udaan: Udaan program is weaved around the fact that any firm’s bright future is dependent on its wide-ranging market presence parameter. The program directs at expanding the operation base and engagement of varied customers in order to have a magnified business approach.

AIC BIMTECH is working as the Execution Partner with UNGCNI for the Young SDG Innovators Programme (YSIP) 2021, which is India’s first cohort. Young SDG Innovators Programme (YSIP) engages young professionals from companies participating in the UN Global Compact around the world to learn how to use Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a catalyst for the development of new products and services. The goal of the programme is to encourage SDG innovation through bottom-up approaches with the aim of developing breakthrough solutions that have the social and market value while also developing a new generation of sustainable business leaders who take initiative within their organizations to drive sustainability within their companies. There are 22 organizations and 44 innovators who are the participants in the YSIP from major Corporates and SMEs in India. This is a 10-month program and each team of young innovators will work on a challenge specific to their company with the goal of designing more sustainable business models, initiatives and products that will advance the company’s sustainability efforts while driving innovation and delivering tangible solutions with potential market value. The programme aims to target corporate behaviour change by changing the way employees view the SDGs in relation to their business.
