    Glimmer of Hope Foundation

    Founder, Glimmer of Hope Foundation

Glimmer of Hope Foundation’s main purpose is to support needy but brilliant kids. That is the motivation that drives the foundation. At the heart of supporting needy but brilliant kids are their mothers, usually single mothers or just vulnerable women. These women are our current target, to support them which will give us access to fully support the kids as well.

We believe as we support these women and kids the benefits will in turn be felt in the economy with the eradication of poverty and improvement in human resources as these kids grow to become assets to our mother Ghana and the world at large.

Glimmer of Hope Foundation is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which is to help achieve a better and a more sustainable future for all. The foundation is built on the following SDGs

    1. SDG1 – No Poverty
    2. SDG2 – Zero Hunger
    3. SDG4 – Quality Education
    4. SDG5 – Gender Equality
    5. SDG8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth

In July 2020, prior to the launch of Glimmer of Hope Foundation, the team visited a group of Kayayes with questionnaires to understand why they have migrated from the North to Accra, sleeping on the streets instead of being in their hometowns.

The questionnaires also enquired on what they would rather do if given the opportunity.

We received a number of responses but what stood out was the search for greener pastures.

Also, a good number of them expressed interest in learning various skills to enable them better their lives and break the generational cycle of abject poverty.

Glimmer of Hope Foundation is set up to provide hope to society and to alleviate poverty through education.

Today we are happy to announce that five of the Kayaye ladies have been admitted by Tamale Training Institute to pursue a three year program in fashion and hair dressing.

The foundation is most grateful to Rebecca Agroh Memorial Foundation for providing funds for the program.

The foundation has embarked on several other projects such as mentorship drive, back to school drive where school uniforms and school accessories were given to vulnerable students to aid in their education, menstrual health drive, clothe the needy drive to mention but a few.

These projects have been carried out through out Ghana and has impacts 1000s of vulnerable kids, students and women across the country.

Key stakeholders and partnerships have been Give Me Hope Foundation and Rebecca Agroh Memorial Foundation.
