    Dr. Ambati Nageswara Rao is serving as a Dean, Research and Publication Division, Director, GNLU Legal Incubation Council and Assistant Professor of Social Work (Social Entrepreneurship) at Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar. He has over 9 ½ years of teaching and research experience at GNLU. He holds a Ph.D. from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai (2012). His teaching and research experience areas include Social Entrepreneurship, Research Methodology, Human Resource Management, and Disability Studies. He was a visiting Research Fellow at Freie University, Berlin, Germany, and visiting faculty at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Ahmedabad. He has several publications in the area of social entrepreneurship and disability studies. Most of his articles are published with SAGE, Wiley, Routledge, Elsevier, Rawat, etc. He has done seven research projects funded by various organizations that include the British Council, NCPCR, Government of Gujarat, MHRD, NCERT, etc.

    Director GNLU Legal Incubation Council:

    Currently, I am heading the GNLU Legal Incubation Council as Director. GNLU Legal Incubation Council (GLIC) is established as part of GNLU’s vision towards excellence in imparting quality legal education and executing the same support system for entrepreneurs in law and interdisciplinary domains through the institutional mechanism. We are mentoring various status at campus and providing seed funding as well.

    As part of my teaching offering course on social entrepreneurship. The main context is focusing on role of social entrepreneurs in achieving sustainable development goals. In addition, the following academic activities organized in the area of Social Entrepreneurship:
    1. Five Days FDP on Social Entrepreneurship Management sponsored by AICTE Atal from August 3-7, 2021
    2. Organized National level Business Plan completions in 2019 & 2020
    3. Two-day workshop on Social Entrepreneurship during August 3-4, 2018
    4. Two Days Advanced Training Programme on Social Entrepreneurship at GNLU from 23rd – 24th September, 2017
    5. Two days Training Programme on ‘Legal awareness Programme for Rural Women’, funded by National Commission for Women, organized at GNLU from Jan 21-22, 2016
    6. Five days Training Prorgamme on ‘Young Women on Social Entrepreneurship Development’, funded by British Council, India organized at Gujarat National Law University, from 31st August – 4th September, 2015
    7. Two Days Workshop and Competition on ‘Social Entrepreneurship Business Models’ in collaboration with Serve Happiness Foundation, organized at Gujarat National Law University, from 27th to 28th March, 2015

    With my passion towards the subject of social entrepreneurship, I have carried out number of research projects and published papers in various journals. Some of them are as follows:

    My experience handling several research projects and completing them successfully proved to be an asset in efficiently organizing and working with faculty members from interdisciplinary areas. Under my supervision, eighteen research centers carry out research, training, and capacity building activities in different social, political, and legal areas.
