    Derya Uzun, from Turkey and currently residing in Cyprus, is the SHERPA Institute UN SDG Corporate Guidebook Series Community Care Coordinator, maintaining multiple global communities of the 100+ contributors from diverse industries, as well as the Young Professionals Program.

    She has Co-founded a new initiative, named SUS TALKS, which publishes and works on sustainability. She is passionate about writing, with several articles in Turkish, Chinese, and English in various magazines and organizations. Her first website, named United Stories, launches soon and aims to share stories about sustainability for children.

    With a bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Finance, Ms. Uzun’s second study has been Sociology, and currently studying Chinese. She is involved in national and international NGOs. She incorporated social responsibility awareness into her life with the “Book Reading Club” that she established about eleven years old. She pioneered the procurement of books, which were not available in her city, so that all children could reach and read them. This project spread throughout the city and children started to receive unobtainable books from the city’s Governor for no cost. In addition, she carried out personal projects and campaigns to recognize the right education of the girls around her. She continues to take part in Gender Equality efforts, which has great importance to her.

    Ms. Uzun is an alumna member of the Turkish Women’s International Network (TurkishWIN), a global member network empowering women with cultural, family, or professional ties to Turkey.

    Derya volunteers on several Social Responsibility Projects, such as being an Ambassador for SDG 5 in the organization Sustainable mPact. She is active in Learning Designs, which supports all those designing quality education. She is a Middle East Climate Ambassador in JDFMediaUKTV is an independent Climate Change News and digital/social media networking platform.
